From business to government, academia to the non-profit sector, information underpins all that we do. Is there a career to be had in RIM? Yes! And it is more varied in nature--and better paid--than is commonly known. Aspiring records managers in Asia, however, may need to build career experience and gain exposure internationally to avoid being under-recognised or mis-cast in lmore limited local roles.
IRM Strategies updates this page periodically to provide insight--and opportunity--in this dynamic, challenging field. We recommend certification through the Institute of Certified Records Managers and caution that this is not a "paid for" certificate. Rather, it is a comprehensive assessment of the body of knowledge suitable to ground management level positions in records and information management. The nature of information management suggests that each Certified Records Manager (CRM) will have a common ground and unique expertise relevant aspects of the domain. That's why organisations as varied as Sony Entertainment, IBM, Canadian Blood Service, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Morgan Stanley and Oaktree Capital Investment all see the wisdom in employing CRMs. Some of the postings provided illustrate this variety.
Please note: we do not endorse any employer listed in these pages. The career postings are provided as a service to encourage interest in the recorded information management professional domain.
